My Story
Hi, I'm Sukh - the face & hands behind CraftSquared.
Fun fact: My full name rarely fits into the allocated boxes on forms.
It's Mrs Sukhninder Kaur Chatha-Johal,
for those wondering 😊
CraftSquared began in a very personal way. During lockdown, I started creating personalised scrabble frames for my loved ones — small but meaningful keepsakes to celebrate birthdays, new homes and new arrivals at a time when we couldn’t be together.
What started as a simple gesture of love quickly became something much bigger than I ever imagined. As more people began asking for frames, the business grew and so did my ideas.
Over time, CraftSquared evolved from bespoke gifting into creative experiences, including children’s craft parties, adult workshops and corporate gifting & wellbeing events.
Creativity has always been at the heart of everything I do — not just as something to make, but as a way to connect people and help moments feel truly special.
In 2025, I was incredibly honoured to be named Business Woman of the Year, recognising how far CraftSquared has come since launching in December 2021 — from working on a small table at home to collaborating with families, schools and businesses across the community.
While the business has grown, the heart behind it has never changed. Every frame, every event and every detail still matters deeply to me.
Outside of CraftSquared, I’m a School Governor and PTA Chair at a large primary school, currently in my fifth year in both roles — a reflection of what matters most to me. I care deeply about children, community and creating positive, meaningful experiences, whether that’s in school, at an event, or through something I’ve made by hand.
Thank you for being here and for supporting this journey. If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift or a creative experience for yourself, your family or your business, I’d love to create something special for you.
With love,
Sukh x
